Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsBefore you hire an SEO company in Palm Beach County, look at the field: Palm Beach County has 27 places of 2,500 or more residents. GetPhound provides search engine optimization for local businesses on monthly plans that are flat, with no setup fee or contract, and we would start from the numbers below.
Snapshot
Local Search Competition Index
88/ 100
Ranked 24 of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and also 6 of the 400 markets we cover. The higher the score, the more local businesses are competing for the same searches. How we calculate it
We rate every U.S. county-equivalent with 20,000 or more residents on how many local-search businesses (including the lawyers, dentists, contractors, restaurants, salons and agents that customers find on Google and the map) compete for the same customers. Palm Beach County scores 88, which is among the most contested markets in the country.
Two things stand out about Palm Beach County: it is a county with many sizeable cities and towns, and it is a county with unusually many local-search businesses for its size. Eight measures below show where it stands among all counties.
The bars place Palm Beach County among all 1,822 U.S. counties with 20,000 or more residents. Data from: Census Bureau population estimates, County Business Patterns (2017 and 2022), Census income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
The search picture
Palm Beach County has 27 places with 2,500 or more residents, 15 of them above 10,000, more than 99% of counties. Each is its own search market: people look for a plumber in West Palm Beach or in the next town over, not in the county. Local SEO means giving each of those cities its own page for each service you offer, which is what RankGuarantee™ is built to produce.
Palm Beach County has 1,533,801 residents, which ranks 26th of 3,143 U.S. counties, with population change of +2.8% since the 2020 Census. Across all industries it has 54,903 employer locations, 35.8 per 1,000 residents.
44% of residents (668,881 people) live outside any incorporated place, so county-level and "near me" searches matter as much as city names.
Who you would rank against
For each local-search category we divide employer locations by population and compare the result with the median county. A 2.0x reading means twice as many businesses per resident as a typical county.
Crowding compares employer locations per 10,000 residents with the median U.S. county of 20,000+ residents (1.0x is typical; the dark tick marks it). Figures are establishments from the Census County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), not a measure of search volume. How we calculate this
The real estate agents and brokers category is the most contested in Palm Beach County: 1,990 locations, 5.2x the density of a typical county, and up 45.3% since 2017. Law offices (1,927 locations, 4.4x) and beauty salons (802 locations, 3.3x) also run above a normal county.
Real estate agents and brokers is also the fastest-growing category, up 45.3%, so the competition is still building. Physicians offices went the other way, down 0.8% to 1,885 locations. The tiniest competitors are in real estate agents and brokers: 1,860 of 1,990 locations (93%) have fewer than five employees.
These numbers describe the competition, not the demand. How many people search for a service and how quickly a page can rank depend on factors public data does not show, so read crowding as a reason to plan and a quiet category as an opening.
Demand signal
New housing units authorized by building permits. Data: the U.S. Census Bureau's Building Permits Survey (annual county files, with the year-to-date bars covering the same months in each year). Keep in mind that permits are approvals, not completed homes.
Palm Beach County authorized 7,851 housing units in 2021 and 4,379 in 2025, about 44% fewer; 2025 still works out to 28.5 units per 10,000 residents, more than in 51% of counties. For January through August, permits are running at 5,934 against 2,890 a year earlier (+105.3%).
The construction-linked categories already most contested in Palm Beach County are real estate agents and brokers (5.2x typical) and landscaping services (2.1x typical). Because search rankings take time to build, a rise in permits is a reason to start now, and a fall is a reason to put more weight on repair, replacement and service-specific pages.
Markets like this one
We matched Palm Beach County to the six markets in our 400-market set that look most like it on population, income, local-search competition and how fast the business base is growing.
| Market | LSCI | Population | Change since 2020 | How local businesses changed since 2017 | Locations under 5 staff |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Palm Beach County, FL (this page) | 88 | 1,533,801 | +2.8% | +13.4% | 68.5% |
| Gwinnett County, GA | 79.9 | 983,526 | +2.7% | +16.6% | 67.5% |
| Broward County, FL | 83.6 | 1,962,531 | +0.9% | +10.5% | 71% |
| Orange County, FL | 75.1 | 1,471,416 | +2.9% | +21.9% | 64.4% |

| Pinellas County, FL | 85.5 | 961,596 | +0.3% | +11.2% | 65.8% |
| Lee County, FL | 80.8 | 834,573 | +9.7% | +22.8% | 65.5% |
The six look-alikes are the counties in our 400-market set that sit closest to this one on size, income, local-search competition, small-business mix and growth. Sources as above.
Gwinnett County, GA is the closest match, scoring 79.9 against Palm Beach County's 88. Hillsborough County, FL is the furthest from it, scoring 73.4. The small-business mix differs too: 64.4% of Orange County, FL's locations have fewer than five employees, against 68.5% here. If you already do SEO in one of these markets, the comparison shows how alike the competition is, not what your results will be.

Population by place, from the Census Bureau's latest estimates. People search by town name, so each of these is a separate set of searches and a possible landing page for each service you offer.

SEO builds over time and no one can promise a date. How quickly pages climb depends on how contested your category is, how strong your website and Google Business Profile are, and how much we can build. In Palm Beach County, real estate agents and brokers is particularly contested (5.2x a typical county), so expect that category to take longer. We work in six-month planning cycles, with no contract, and report each month.
More than most. Palm Beach County scores 88 on our Local Search Competition Index, ranking 24th of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 6th of the 400 markets we cover. Real estate agents and brokers leads on density, at 5.2 times the typical county. 68.5% of local-search locations have fewer than five employees, which often means thin websites to outrank. If anything, it makes city-and-service pages and strong reviews matter more.
Across the fifteen categories we track, the largest by employer locations in Palm Beach County are real estate agents and brokers (1,990), law offices (1,927) and physicians offices (1,885). Measured against a typical county, the most contested are real estate agents and brokers (5.2x) and law offices (4.4x). A large or crowded category does not settle whether SEO will work for you; it shows how many other sites would be in the results with you.
Whichever you serve. Palm Beach County has 27 places of 2,500 or more residents, led by West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Wellington. RankGuarantee™ builds local landing pages for each service in each city you serve (25 new pages a month on the $495 plan, 25 to 100 on Organic Growth), so the plan follows your service area, not the county line.
We do. Each Organic Growth plan covers Google Business Profile optimization, citations and review management, together with on-page and technical SEO, strategic content and AI search (GEO) work. Maps rankings matter most for searches like "near me", and most local categories in Palm Beach County depend on them.
It can help. We include AI search (GEO) optimization in our plans: clear, well-structured pages and consistent business information give AI tools more to draw on. Nobody can guarantee an AI mention, and we do not promise one, but the work behind rankings is also the content those tools draw from.
Often both. Ads can send calls within days and charge per click; SEO takes longer but keeps working with no per-click charge. If leads cannot wait, start with ads (we manage Google Ads, Bing and Meta too) and let SEO build the asset that reduces your reliance on them.
Cancel whenever you like; there is no setup fee. Your plan covers the keyword research, website audit and six-month strategy up front, then the pages and content in your tier, rank tracking, and one account manager who knows your Palm Beach County business.
