Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsBefore you hire an SEO company in Nassau County, look at the field: Nassau County has 40 places of 2,500 or more residents. We provide search engine optimization for local businesses on flat monthly plans with no setup fee and no contract, and the numbers below are our starting point.
Snapshot
Local Search Competition Index
87.8/ 100
Rank 27 of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and also 8 of the 400 markets we cover. More local businesses chasing the same searches pushes the score up. How the score works
We rate every U.S. county-equivalent with 20,000 or more residents on how many local-search businesses (the lawyers, dentists, contractors, restaurants, salons and agents that customers find on Google and the map) compete for its residents. Nassau County scores 87.8, which is among the most contested markets in the country.
What shapes SEO in Nassau County is more than the score. It is a county with many sizeable cities and towns, and it is a high-income county. The eight measures below show how it compares with every other county.
The bars place Nassau County alongside all 1,822 U.S. counties with 20,000 or more residents. Sources: Census Bureau population estimates, County Business Patterns (2017 and 2022), Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
Market profile
Many towns, many searches: Nassau County counts 40 places of 2,500 or more residents (15 above 10,000), more than 100% of counties. Searchers use town names, so a business that serves several of them needs a page for each service in each town, not one page for the whole county.
Nassau County has 1,381,715 residents, which ranks 29th of 3,143 U.S. counties, with population change of −1% since the 2020 Census. Across all industries it has 48,731 employer locations, 35.3 per 1,000 residents.
61% of residents (849,380 people) live outside any incorporated place, so county-level and "near me" searches matter as much as city names.
Who you would rank against
The table below measures Nassau County against the typical U.S. county for fifteen categories that live on Google and the map: the number of locations, how that number has moved, and how many are very small.
Crowding compares employer locations per 10,000 residents with the median U.S. county of 20,000+ residents (1.0x is typical; the dark tick marks it). Counts are establishments from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), not a measure of search volume. How we calculate this
In Nassau County, the accounting and CPA firms category is the most contested, with 793 locations at 4.7 times the typical density, down 5.9% since 2017. Law offices (1,677 locations, 4.2x) and beauty salons (722 locations, 3.3x) also run above a normal county. At the other end, the roofing contractors category (55 locations) is below typical density at 0.7x, which means fewer competing sites to outrank.
Real estate agents and brokers grew fastest, up 22.7% since 2017 to 789 locations, so new rivals keep arriving there. Physicians offices went the other way, down 16.3% to 1,629 locations. The tiniest competitors are in real estate agents and brokers: 725 of 789 locations (92%) have fewer than five employees.
Keep this in mind: this counts businesses, not searches. We have no search volumes or traffic for any keyword, and we do not claim any; crowding shows that more sites compete, not what results will be.
Housing demand
Housing units authorized by building permits. Data: the Census Bureau's Building Permits Survey (annual files by county, plus a year-to-date comparison of identical months). Permits are authorizations, not completed homes.
Nassau County authorized 1,365 housing units in 2021 and 766 in 2025, about 44% fewer; 2025 still works out to 5.5 units per 10,000 residents, less than in 91% of counties. For January through August, permits are running at 712 against 493 a year earlier (+44.4%).
The construction-linked categories already most contested in Nassau County are residential remodelers (3.2x typical) and landscaping services (2.3x typical). Rankings take time, so a rise in permits is a reason to begin now, and a drop is a reason to lean harder on repair, replacement and service-specific pages.

These are the six markets among our 400 that match this one most closely on size, income, local-search competition, small-business mix and growth. Same sources as above.
Suffolk County, NY is the closest match, scoring 89.2 against Nassau County's 87.8. Lake County, IL is the furthest from it, scoring 79.9. Bergen County, NJ has 63.6% of its local-search locations under five employees against 68.3% in Nassau County. Already investing in SEO in one of these places? The comparison shows how similar the competition is, not what your results will be.

Population by place, from the Census Bureau's latest estimates. People search by town name, so each of these is a separate set of searches and a possible landing page for each service you offer.

Common questions
You pay a flat monthly fee. RankGuarantee™, our local landing page engine, is $495 a month on its own. Organic Growth plans, which bring in Google Maps work, AI search optimization, content and more landing pages, run $1,495 (Silver), $2,495 (Gold) and $3,495 (Platinum). No setup fee, no contract.
A fixed SEO timeline would not be honest. Rankings take time and depend on the competition, your site and the work we publish. Accounting and CPA firms is the most contested category in Nassau County at 4.7x typical, so it is the one to be patient with. We plan in six-month cycles and show you the movement monthly, and you can cancel anytime.
More than most. Nassau County scores 87.8 on our Local Search Competition Index, ranking 27th of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 8th of the 400 markets we cover. Accounting and CPA firms, at 4.7 times the typical county. 68.3% of local-search locations have fewer than five employees, which frequently means thin websites to outrank. That raises the value of city-and-service pages and strong reviews.
Across the fifteen categories we track, the largest by employer locations in Nassau County are law offices (1,677), physicians offices (1,629) and full-service restaurants (1,343). Measured against a typical county, the most contested are accounting and CPA firms (4.7x) and law offices (4.2x). A large or crowded category does not settle whether SEO will work for you; it only shows how many other sites you would share the results with.
The ones you serve. Nassau County has 40 places of 2,500 or more residents, led by Hempstead, Freeport, Valley Stream, Long Beach and Glen Cove. RankGuarantee™ builds local landing pages for each service in each city you serve (25 new pages a month on the $495 plan, 25 to 100 on Organic Growth), so the plan follows your service area, not the county line.
We do. All Organic Growth plans include Google Business Profile optimization, citations and review management, along with on-page and technical SEO, strategic content and AI search (GEO) work. Map results matter most for searches such as "near me", and most of the local categories in Nassau County rely on them.
It can help. Our plans include AI search (GEO) optimization: clean, structured pages and consistent business information give AI tools more to draw on. We cannot promise a mention in an AI answer, and neither can anyone else, but the work behind rankings is also the content those tools draw from.
Often both. Google Ads can bring calls within days, but each click costs money; SEO takes longer to build and keeps working without a per-click charge. If leads cannot wait, start with ads (we manage Google Ads, Bing and Meta too) and build SEO as the asset that makes you less dependent on ads.
No contract, no setup fee, cancel anytime. What you pay each month includes onboarding (keyword research, a website audit and a six-month strategy), the landing pages and content your plan includes, continuing page management and rank tracking, and one dedicated account manager who reports to you each month.
